What we’re looking for.

We stock work by designers, artists and makers from the UK but also consider submissions from further afield. We work on a wholesale basis and are interested in original art, prints, cards, jewellery, bags, ceramics and homeware with a relaxed and happy style.

We like suppliers who are kind, detail-oriented and easily contactable, who care about sustainability and who are looking to build enduring partnerships with independent retailers like us.

How to pitch us your products.

Send a short email introducing yourself to Clare and Anthony at hello@merryandbright.co. In your email, show you know something about our specific store and tell us why we should stock your work. Please also provide a catalogue or line sheet containing bright, high-quality photos of your products, the link to your website, a wholesale price list and your terms and conditions.

We’re not so keen on being pitched to by phone or on social media. Send us an email instead.

What you can expect from us.

We'll pay you on time, promote your work to our audience and hopefully keep buying your work for years to come. We’ve been stocking some artists’ work for well over a decade.

Also, we know approaching shopkeepers about can be intimidating so Clare set up an entire website dedicated to helping artists and designers get started in wholesale - it's called Indie Retail Academy. Here’s one of her articles on pitch emails.

Design for diversity pledge

 Design For Diversity Pledge

While we have a range of suppliers and products, we always welcome more submissions from makers of colour. By placing the Design For Diversity sticker on our website, we undertake to uphold the following:

1. Visibility

We pledge that our website and social media will at all times endeavour to include people of every colour, gender and sexuality.

2. Opportunity

We pledge to seek out Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic artists and designers to supply our business. We will always choose the best suppliers for our store, but we will endeavour to bring more diverse potential suppliers through the process. We stop short of positive discrimination and we reject tokenism.

3. Accessibility

We pledge that any events we hold, be they panel discussions, talks, dinners, receptions,or media events, will endeavour to include people of all colours and genders.
