This Company Is Amazing For Some Very Special Reasons

When we met the guys from Nursem, the first thing that struck us was how passionate they were. Not just about their wonderful products (they really are wonderful!), but about their mission. They were keen to tell us about what they call the Nursem Promise. That is, for every product sold, they’ll donate a month’s worth of Nursem products to a nurse or midwife working in the NHS. Amazing, right?

But let’s start at the beginning. Nursem began when co-founder Antonia was working as a paediatric nurse and found that her hands would get so cracked, sore and dry from constant hand-sanitising that she was often in pain and was once even forced to take a week off work because of it.

She teamed up with her husband Jonny and they started working on a hand cream formula. They wanted the product to be effective, natural and something nurses could use repeatedly throughout a busy shift. Fast forward through seven years of laboratory-work and testing with a group of NHS nurses and Newcastle Science City and the Nursem range was born.

Now, I knew that they would be donating some of their products to a nurse or midwife as a result of us making our first order with them back in June, and so I got in touch to ask if I could request a specific ward for our donated products to go to.

You see, back in 2018 my dad spent three months in the intensive care ward at Manchester Royal Infirmary. It was a very traumatic time for my family and sadly, in the end, dad wasn’t able to recover. But during his time at the MRI he was cared for with such professionalism, dedication and love; and they were wonderful to us too. We saw first hand what it takes to care for people in dad’s condition, and although I’m sure they would say that they were just doing their jobs, it was awe-inspiring.

So our donated case has been sent to that incredible ward and Nursem were only too happy to make it happen.
